On March 19th, during a deeply moving evening, we had the great honor of welcoming 9 women ambassadors from across Athens to our social enterprise Rain Lab.
Together with refugee women from our social integration programs, they did not come to hear statistics — but real stories from their lives.
Through a piece of fabric and a needle, meaningful conversations unfolded.
Stories were shared from the heart, emotions turned into strength, and genuine connections were formed between women from different countries and life journeys.
Each participant wrote a word of empowerment in her own language — a small yet powerful reminder that hope is something we all share.
During the event, the President of EIE, Johnathan Macris, shared his family’s unique journey — from serving indigenous communities in Papua New Guinea to supporting vulnerable people in Greece today — conveying a vision rooted in the love of Christ and service to others.
We were also truly grateful for the greeting from Alexia Lodge, representative of the, who highlighted our collaboration and the fabric donation that was upcycled through our programs.
A heartfelt thank you to the Embassy of Estonia and Her Excellency, Ambassador Karin Rannu, as the idea for this special workshop was born from her desire for ambassadors to hear firsthand the stories of women who were forced to leave everything behind.
A powerful reminder that when people come together with open hearts, something truly meaningful can be created.
