Sewing Class Celebrations

Οn June 16 and 18, we held two small celebrations with our sewing classes, which include refugee women from Ukraine.

On June 16, we gathered with the beginner sewing group. There were five students in total — three of them have decided to continue to the advanced level starting in September, while two have completed their journey with us, and we wished them all the best as we said goodbye.

On June 18, we celebrated with the advanced sewing class. We enjoyed food and cake together and spent time reflecting on our journey and sharing uplifting thoughts. We took beautiful photos of the group, and we all enjoyed the lovely weather and the amazing view of the Acropolis.

The surprise of the day came at the end of the event: each participant received a sewing machine and a kit of sewing accessories — a meaningful gift made possible through the generosity of our supporters, to whom we are truly grateful.

As we sat together, we also handed out recommendation letters, which the women can use in their job search. When they heard about the story behind the gifts and the support that made this possible, their faces lit up with joy. One of the women kept kissing her letter, overwhelmed with emotion. It was a truly special moment.

We feel deeply thankful for the chance to share both practical skills and meaningful time with these women — to encourage them, support them, and offer them a sense of hope. We are especially grateful to our sewing instructor for her dedication and kindness toward all the students.

The support we receive allows us to continue empowering these women with the tools and confidence they need to build a better future.
