Being a parent is a big challenge, especially when your children get sick. Even more so when it's not in your country, and you also have to deal with a number of obstacles, such as a different language, different culture or bureaucracy.
In the Pediatric Clinic of our Social & Medical Center "The Good Samaritan" we try to help the people we serve in all the ways we can. In addition to the medical services we provide, we give them instructions on how to make an appointment at public hospitals, either to see a doctor or for tests. If they are unable to do it themselves we make the appointments for them and inform them when they need to go. We also print them maps with directions on how to get there as well as instructions for public transportation for that specific hospital!
“The doctors here don’t just give vaccines to our 3 children, but do everything they can to help us. They always have a smile and they make us feel good.” Says a young Syrian couple who have been visiting us since 2016. In addition to medical services, Shaaban and Zeinab have previously attended English classes at our center and have received personal hygiene items for their entire family.
