The volunteer project "Operation Joshua" was organized by Hellenic Ministries during the years 2004-2023, with the goal for every home in Greece to acquire a New Testament in the vernacular and to learn the truth of the gospel through personal reading. Volunteers of all ages from Greece and abroad participated in the project.

The distributed New Testaments were translated into modern Greek, published by the Hellenic Bible Society, and approved by the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece. Their purchase was based exclusively on donations from Greeks and others passionate about the work in Greece. The translation into modern Greek was done by the University professors P. Vassiliadis, Ioann. Galanis, C. G. Galitis and Ioann. Karavidopoulos.

In total, more than 1.5 million copies were distributed to 7,643 villages in mainland Greece and the Greek islands.
