For every refugee, the moment they leave their home country is also the moment they leave behind their dreams. Our desire is to support refugees, that arrive in Greece, on their empowerment journey and in the quest to rebuild their lives.
By way of the Professional Development Course, we help our fellow human beings to believe in themselves again, to discover their skills, and to move strategically toward their next professional steps.
The program is facilitated by Jeremy Thompson, who has over 25 years' experience in Global Marketing, along with his wife, Karen, who has much experience. As they explain, "Through job search preparation, we hope to be able to communicate the love of Jesus that transforms lives."
What do we offer?
Each class always begins with prayer and a lecture, then continues with one-on-one counseling sessions. In particular we guide and encourage participants to:
- Pray and partner with God in their career
- Develop long-term and short-term career goals
- Create plans to reach those goals
- Prepare for networking opportunities
- Understand methods for seeking new jobs
- Create resumes, LinkedIn profiles, and marketing materials
- Develop interviewing skills
- Find local and online resources
- Lots of individual help
